 Very good, but not for frequent use August 23, 2010

Bought this item in mid April 2010. Died on August 18, 2010. Used it at least twice a day for 4 mos or about 240 times ($100/240=$0.42 per serving). Not bad. But I would prefer something that lasts at least a year...Got a different brand for $200. We shall see how long it lasts!

Recently purchased a vacation home and of course, one of the first things we needed was a good blender!! Did lots of research and settled on the Waring Professional Bar blender and could not be happier. It is a great looking blender. It feels like a solid piece of machinery. And it makes a great blended margarita!! Crushed ice in a flash and although it is as loud as one would expect, we could not be happier with this purchase. Worth the extra few dollars to get a great blender.

This a great blender if you want something that looks really cool, and you plan on blending... like ice cream once a week. In 2 years, this pretty pricey blender has broken twice, and its not like you can get replacement blades for this guy. You have to buy the entire top picther part... something I will not do a second time (expensive, and you'll just be playing Russian-roulette waiting until it breaks again). Its called "PRO;" which it certainly is not. I think its an acronym, "Piece Of" though I haven't figured out what the "R" stands for yet. I'd like to note that this is the 1st review I have ever written about anything, but I'm so dissatisfied at this thing as a daily blender, that I feel I have to warn. It gets 2 stars only because if you don't ever really use your blender except for margaritas once a month, its pretty cool looking. I guess that's what I get for buying superficially. Cheers to you, and do NOT buy this if you use a blender more than a couple times a week.

Best bar blender going. Makes perfect Pina Coladas with ice cubes. Blends in two minute and is perfect every time. Now own two for two different locations. My daughter now owns one and loves it. Only problem is ss is small and therefore only two pina colada per jar. But two every two minutes is fine for most occasions.
